Good Evening.   It was great meeting everyone at curriculum night.   We've had a great two days of school.   The first graders are adjusting to a full day and lots of learning. 
  

I wanted to explain more about our behavior chart.  In our classroom we use a clip up and clip down system.  All students will begin their day on  the color green, which means they are ready to learn. Throughout the day, if a student is not following classroom or school expectations, they may be asked to move their clip down.  However, they do have the opportunity to move their clip up for good behavior. At the end of each day your child will color in their individual behavior calendar.  Please look for this in their take home folder every night.  Thank you!

I am very excited to be starting a new school year with you.  I look forward to having the classroom filled with smiling faces very soon.   We are going to have a great year of learning in first grade.   

I am new to blogging and hope to use this site, in collaboration with Konnect and e-mail,  as a way to communicate classroom happenings throughout the year.   Please check back weekly for new posts.  Thanks.

A little about me...
This will be my ninth year of teaching.  I love to learn and read.  I am the youngest of five siblings.  I grew up on a farm, but currently live in the burbs.  I love to spend time with family and friends.  You might find me travelling, doing yoga, walking/running outdoors, catching a play/concert, or cheering on the Fighting Illini at a football or basketball game.
